Pull, find your rhythm, and then listen – this little disc brings joy to young and old alike!
The whirligig, also known as a buzzer, is a classic toy that used to be made with a button. It immediately invites you to move, discover, and repeat. By pulling your hands apart, the disc starts to spin.

How it works:
First, the disc is swung around a few times so that the string winds up. Then the real work begins: by rhythmically pulling your hands apart and moving them back together, the disc spins faster and faster, alternating directions. The wound-up string provides extra momentum each time. The more even the pulling force, the louder the characteristic buzzing storm sound becomes. Through play, children discover cause and effect.
- stimulates fine motor skills and bilateral coordination
- trains hand strength, rhythm, and timing
- promotes concentration and sustained attention
- lets children experiment with force and control
- supports executive functions such as planning and self-regulation
- developing a sense of rhythm is an important prerequisite for learning to read

Tip:
The string can be shortened so that the whirligig fits the child comfortably and safely.

Note: pulling too hard can cause the string to wear out or snap. Check the string regularly to keep play safe and durable.

A simple toy with surprising depth – perfect for home, school, or therapy, and fun to try again and again.
