Shake, listen, guess: this sound memory game lets your ears do the work!
This wooden sound memory game from Janod features 12 blocks with 6 different sounds. Shake the blocks, listen carefully, and find the two that sound the same. Each pair consists of one yellow and one blue block. Children can check if it's a match themselves by looking at the colored circle on the bottom, so this game is also great for independent play.

The blocks have a handy grip, making them easy to grasp using the pincer grasp. This allows children to practice their fine motor skills through play.

What does this game stimulate?
- Auditory memory: remembering and recognizing sounds
- Listening skills and concentration: being quiet for a moment and really listening
- Fine motor skills: pincer grasp and hand-eye coordination when grabbing and shaking
- Associating and comparing: which sound belongs to which block?
- Sensory development: feeling, shaking, and hearing all in one game
- Taking turns and practicing patience

Good listening skills are an important foundation for language development and following instructions.

Play suggestions
- Play alone or take turns, just like with a regular memory game
- Have children name the sounds: rattling, tapping, rustling
- Extra challenge: play with your eyes closed; you will experience that listening feels different when visual stimuli are turned off

A listening game that allows children to practice their hearing, memory, and fine motor skills in a calm, playful way, whether at home, in the classroom, or during a therapy session.
