Sometimes you come across materials that naturally invite children to get started… and these colorful lacing letters do exactly that.
With the Lowercase Lacing Alphabet from Learning Resources, children can discover letters, sort them, lace them, and build words through play. The bucket contains enough letters for endless variations: from sorting by color or letter to lacing a name, simple words, or an entire pattern.
Lacing is not only fun, but it also requires careful observation and purposeful movement. As a child grasps the letters and threads the lace through the holes, they are practicing fine motor skills, the pincer grasp, eye-hand coordination, and bilateral coordination. One hand holds and helps guide, while the other hand moves the lace through the hole.

This set also offers many possibilities for language development and early literacy. Recognizing letters, connecting sounds, spelling words, and creating patterns can all be practiced through play. At the same time, various tasks require concentration, working memory, planning, and sustained attention.
- stimulates bilateral hand coordination
- practices fine motor skills and pincer grasp
- supports eye-hand coordination
- helps with letter recognition and word formation
- stimulates early literacy
- promotes concentration and sustained attention

A colorful and versatile material in which language and motor skills come together naturally. And precisely because children are encouraged to lace, feel, sort, and discover, learning doesn't feel like practicing at all.
