Christmas Wreath Advent Calendar Book – Every repetition brings fine motor skills one step closer to automation
Cutting, pasting, and a little more Christmas spirit on the door every day – that is the idea behind this advent calendar book with a Christmas wreath to decorate yourself. The book includes a wreath poster, and 24 small Christmas crafts that you pull from the perforated pages day by day, cut out, and stick onto the wreath. This way, the wreath grows step by step into a fully decorated Christmas ornament by December 24th.

For children from about 5 years old, this is a great way to practice cutting and pasting through play. Pulling out the perforated pages and carefully cutting out the figures require a good pincer grasp, finger strength, and hand-eye coordination. Because each craft must be placed in its exact spot on the poster, concentration and motor planning are also engaged.

Play suggestion: make it a regular daily moment just before dinner – detach, cut, and paste the craft of the day together, and watch how the wreath gets fuller and fuller. Also great as a group activity in the classroom, where children take turns adding a piece.

An advent calendar that counts, crafts, and trains fine motor skills – this way, the wreath on the door becomes a new testament each day to how much closer Christmas has come.
