Cutting becomes a little adventure with this set of 6 Westcott pattern scissors. Instead of straight lines, children can now cut zigzags, waves, scallops, and other decorative edges - each pattern requires a slightly different squeezing motion.
These pattern scissors are suitable for children who are just learning to cut, as well as those who need extra practice with fine motor skills. They are widely used in occupational therapy, in the classroom, and at home, because each pattern offers a new motor challenge.

What makes this scissor set so valuable?
- stimulates fine motor skills and hand muscles through varying cutting motions
- trains hand-eye coordination and bilateral integration
- requires visual motor planning: which movement goes with which pattern?
- great for children who enjoy repetitive, rhythmic movements
- provides quickly visible results, which motivates them to keep cutting
- can be used in therapy, the classroom, and at home

Because each pattern requires repetition, the cutting motion naturally becomes smoother - repetition helps in automating fine motor movements.

Practical use
- cutting edges around drawings or worksheets
- thematic craft assignments
- following cutting routes for extra visual guidance
- a calming activity when feeling tense or restless

For children who still find cutting intimidating, pattern scissors are an accessible first step: the result is immediately visible, without the pressure of "right or wrong."

With this set of 6 pattern scissors, cutting becomes a playful motor exercise that encourages repetition - and that is exactly what children need to master fine motor skills.
